Herbie Jones has a new friend at school. Raymond is a new student and is happy to make new friends, but when the teacher announces that the class should bring their slippers to school and he doesn't have any Ray becomes very sad. He doesn't want to be laughed at or made fun of. It seems there are a lot of kids in class that are getting their feelings hurt. Mr. S. is quck with a clever idea of how to get kids to stop laughing at each other. Soon they have their own special reminders of when they can and can't laugh in class.
