In 1930 and 1931, anthropologist Frederick Johnson, then 27 years old, visited seven Mi'kmaw communities in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. During these visits he tool about 200 photographs that are the core of this book. Over the past 4 years, The Confederacy of Mainland Mi'kmaq and the Robert S.
