Description
In his memoirs, Boren recounts fleeing east Nazi-occupied Warsaw as an adolescent, only to fall into German hands along with his father and brother. Miraculously, he slipped off unnoticed as they were being hanged and made his way back to Warsaw. He was smuggled into the ghetto and participated in the uprising before being captured. Deported to the concentration camp of Majdanek, he volunteered for work at Auschwitz III, later being send to Sachsenahusen and finally on a long death march.
